The 4th Xiamen Symposium on Marine Environmental Sciences (XMAS-IV) invites early career participants of the Symposium to apply for a one-day recruitment-oriented special reception. Travel funds will be awarded to the accepted applicants. Attendees will learn about the current status of XMU’s scientific research in oceanography, ecology and environmental sciences, and will learn about XMU support programs and employment opportunities in the broad areas of marine and environmental sciences, including the newly established and expanding Department of Geological Oceanography.
The special reception will be held on January 10th, 2019, the day after the main conference of XMAS-IV (January 6th–9th, 2019). We also encourage the applicants to submit session/mini workshop proposals to XMAS-IV (due on May 15, 2018). More information about XMAS-IV can be found at http:/conference/4xmas/.
1. Application Requirements
The applicants should have obtained Ph.D. degree in past 10 years or are expected to obtain Ph.D. degree in 2018, with research fields in oceanography, earth sciences, environmental sciences, ecology or related disciplines.
The applicants will be required to submit abstracts to and register XMAS-IV.
2. Funding support
(1) Travel expenses of up to $2,000 USD for each accepted applicant.
(2) Accommodation and meals.
(3) Registration fee for XMAS-IV will be waived.
3. How to Apply
The application will be open on June 15, 2018 and should be submitted online with the XMAS-IV abstracts.

About XMU’s Marine Environmental Science
Xiamen University is one of the major teaching and research institutions in marine environmental science in China.
