内容简介：Comprehensive human security is understood as prevention of armed conflict and fulfilment of basic human needs, such as food and nutrition, availability of freshwater, energy, housing, education and disease control, in association with or leading to economic, environmental and social security: human well-being. In this context aspects of food security, ecosystem services, climate variability and change, and biodiversity losses will be discussed. The role of the ocean and coastal areas in meeting these needs and supporting fulfilment of basic human needs is aslo illustrated.

内容简介：Problems of the coastal zone including the EEZ are discussed in light of increasing pressure, population, migration, urbanisation, environmental deteriorations, climate variability and change, together with an overview of natural hazards and aspects of related risk management. The approach of the ICM to address the problems is highlighted. And concerns of the tourism and insurance industries will be also presented, including the sensitivity to natural hazards and social risks, and the large and increasing insurance losses from extreme weather events.
个人简历：
Ph.D. Gunnar Kullenberg is marine scientist in fields of ocean mixing, ocean-atmosphere interaction, optics, pollution, interaction physical-biological processes, ocean circulation and coastal processes, and coastal and ocean governance. He was formerly Executive Secretary/Director General, International Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (1989-1998) and Executive Director, IOI (1998-2002).
Ph.D. Gunnar Kullenberg was professor of physical oceanography at theUniversityofCopenhagenand theUniversityofGoteborg, and authored several books and articles on coastal and ocean management. He chaired several committees: GESAMP, SCOR working group, Danish and Swedish national committees and Advisory Committee on Marine Pollution of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (and the consultative committee of the same organization).
