PhD/M Phil Studentship

School of Biological Sciences/The Swire Institute of Marine Science, The University ofHong Kong

PhD/M Phil positions are available to study Environmental Proteomics or Marine Molecular Ecology or “Ecological Developmental Biology” – the development of embryo/larvae/juveniles of marine organisms in the real world (which includes larval dispersal, molecular plasticity and behavior).

Requirements: We are seeking talented, enthusiastic and creative young researchers with a strong commitment to molecular ecology research. Excellent communication skills (in English), both oral and written, are essential. Previous research experience in molecular biology and/or aquatic ecology is advantageous.

Qualifications: We prefer candidates with a Master’s degree in marine science; biochemistry or zoology or related subjects. Applicants with a 1stClass (or Upper Second) BSc Hons degree may also be considered.PhD studentships are for 3-4 years and available from August 2008.
